ICLIS 2025
The Sri Lanka Library Association (SLLA), in collaboration with the Library Network of the University of Peradeniya, is proud to organize the International Conference on Library and Information Science (ICLIS) 2025. This premier conference brings together professionals, researchers, and experts in the field of Library and Information Science (LIS) to share knowledge, explore innovative ideas, and discuss the latest advancements.
ICLIS has traditionally focused on high-caliber research conducted in English. However, recognizing the importance of inclusivity, we are now welcoming submissions in Sinhala and Tamil, provided they are accompanied by English-translated abstracts. This initiative particularly encourages contributions from academic, public, special, and school libraries, ensuring that library professionals’ experiences, challenges, and innovative practices are represented in research forums.
In an effort to bridge existing research gaps and foster a stronger research culture, ICLIS 2025 will place special emphasis on state-sector libraries and library professionals. We aim to create opportunities for knowledge-sharing in local languages and extend the conference to multiple locations, making it more accessible. While initial research quality may vary, we view this as a crucial step toward cultivating a sustainable research culture within the LIS community.
Stay tuned for more updates on ICLIS 2025—a platform to connect, collaborate, and innovate for the future of libraries.
